About Us

Our History

In 1986, three newly graduated students from UMass Amherst realized that there just weren't any good wing restaurants in Boston, and took it upon themselves to correct that situation. Without enough money to rent out a location, the trio started out by running a deliveries-only restaurant out of their own kitchen. At the time, the only two of our famous wing flavors offered were the traditional buffalo and barbeque. Wing It's popularity grew quickly along with the choices of flavors; and within a year, Wing It was able to move from a kitchen apartment to an actual commercial location in "Lower Allston." Still only open for deliveries in the new location, our customers were eagerly asking for a sit down restaurant.

In 1989 we moved to our present location at 1153 Commonwealth Avenue off the Green (B) MBTA Line. Located directly between Boston University and Boston College, and in close proximity to 10 other universities in the area, the popularity of our wing flavors spread throughout the college campuses. Our menu eventually expanded to include such savory entrees as Baby Back Ribs, enormous BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burgers, choice marinated Sirloin Tips, combination platters, salads and more. We even added huge party platters — perfect for Red Sox games, Patiots games, Friday-night frat parties, or family gatherings.

Today, we see many new faces, as well as lots of our continued customers who come back with their families, in memory of their college years and their time in the city. We hope that you, too, will visit and try our delicious food, and maybe we will become one of your favorites as well.
